The Best BBQ Sauce

A Great Allrounder :-
Preparation Time: 10 mins
Cooking Time: 15-20 mins.

INGREDIENTS: for Sauce for 10 People: 4 tablespoons of White Wine Vinegar, 4 tablespoons of Redcurrant Jelly (or something similar), 1 Tablespoon of Honey, One Tablespoon of Worcestershire Sauce, 1 Tablespoon of French Mustard, 2 Tablespoons of Tomato Ketchup, 4 Tablespoons of Tomato Paste, Salt and Pepper to taste. Half a finely chopped onion (optional).

METHOD: For the Sauce ;

Gently fry the onion in butter and oil until nice and soft (five minutes). Add the vinegar and heat up, add the jelly and stir until it is all mixed. Add all the other ingredients and cook slowly for 15 minutes or so, adding water until you have the texture and consistency needed. You can blitz it in the blender if you want but I can’t be bothered most times…

OPTIONS: use Soy Sauce and Ginger for an Asian hint..

This sauce is a great allrounder. It can be used with great effect on American Style Pork Ribs..just pasted on either at the start or halfway through cooking. It is also great on chicken breasts or chicken thigh fillets thrown on the Barbie. Or buy plain kebabs from us and dress them with this sauce. It is great on plain burgers, baked potatoes, pork cutlets, pork eye fillets and loin steaks, chicken wings, lamb grillers…the list goes on. You can freeze what you don’t use….it is SO simple to make, and has none of the chemicals most commercial sauces have. This helps give the sauce its typical rich flavour with a hint of sweet and sour….

I first used this sauce to impress a new girlfiend and she later became my wife, so I definitely think it’s worth a go !!! She still talks about it (very occasionally I admit).
